Volunteering Opportunities

We always welcome new volunteers at Braintree District Museum.

Volunteers offer a valuable contribution to the work and activities of Braintree District Museum. The volunteer team enable and support the Museum Shop and events, help with Museum maintenance and upkeep of the building along with some collection work.

The Museum is currently looking for: Events Coordinator Volunteer

This role will include helping with setting up and down of the events. Serving refreshments, meeting, greeting and seating guests, all in all making sure the events run as smoothly as possible from start to finish.

The events are booked in during Museum opening times; Tuesday to Saturday from 10am – 4pm, but there are also some evening events throughout the year which will be part of this volunteering role. On average the museum hosts about 3 to 5 events a month.

Some of the events the Museum hosts:

  • Tea and Talks
  • Private Exhibition Viewings
  • Musical Concerts

The events volunteer will work closely with the Museum’s operations manager, who books and markets the events.
