“Original, Quaint and Classical” A creative and colourful exhibition exploring our ceramics collection through the eyes of local ceramicist Edward Bingham for the whole family to enjoy.

January 2024 – June 2024

Showcasing our ceramics collection through the history, perspective and extraordinary pieces by local potter, Edward Bingham (1829 – 1914). Exploring the history of ceramics locally and nationally, different design styles and the social uses and impacts. We will be adding loans by current and contemporary ceramicists such as Grayson Perry, the Bardfield Artists and Colin Saunders.

In Case of Emergency!

This exhibition will tell the story of lifesaving services and their role within our community for all the family to take in and enjoy.

 July 2024 – December 2024

The making of the emergency services, from volunteer Victorian fire brigades and Courtauld Hospitals to individual personalities and stories will be featured. Including items from our collections never been on display before as well as loans from the Essex Fire Museum. It will engage all ages by providing a fun and interactive environment for children to play, dress-up, listen and learn while adults can explore our town’s vast and varied history with the emergency services.
